Cruising: RCCL Liberty of the Seas
In May, I was fortunate to get invited onto the Royal Caribbean Liberty of the Seas Inaugural two night sailing out of Bayonne, NJ. Below this write up I have included pictures from the trip. Last year, I was on its sister ship the Freedom of the Seas. The only disappointing part of the trip is that it is very hard to find any differences in the two ships. Both ships are floating masterpieces, but if you have been on one, the other is identical.
When you hear RCCL refer to these ships to be there own destinations, they are not kidding. They are great for the whole family, from great-grandparents to the 3 year olds will love the experience on the Freedom Class of Ship. In two days, we took in the Pirate Parade down the promenade, the ice skating show, 80′s night dance party, cruising by NYC, the CEO and the Captain Surfing on the WaveRider, winning big in Casino and food, food, and more food!!!!
I found the food in the buffett for breakfast to be OK and lunch was delicious. The lunch buffett had more variety and was not too bland like the breakfast buffett. At Dinner, the service and food was perfect.
If you are a first time cruiser, you will be spoiling yourself by going on the Freedom or the Liberty of the Seas as your first cruise. These are ships in which the ship itself is more important then the destinations of the cruise. Some avid cruisers perfer smaller more intimate ships. I recommend trying out several sizes of ships and a couple different cruise lines. If you travel with your family, I definitely recommend having the Freedom or Liberty of the Seas high on your list of future travel plans.
