2 Days before the cruise, Motion Sickness, Cell Phone Service,

We are down to the last 2 days to go before we go on the cruise.   We are leaving behind our 5.5 month old baby girl and 6 year old son.   So for as excited as we are to go on the cruise we have those feelings of anxiety about leaving behind the kids for 9 nights.

Due to leaving the kids behind, I did research on the cell phone usage on the ship.  The Technology is changing so rapidly that each time I go on a cruise the options for communication home is different.   The NCL Pearl supposedly has Cell Phone Service all the time.   According to Sprint, if I use my Cell phone on the Ship then the cruiseline owns the cell tower and charges $2.49 per minute.   And when I am on shore that I need to make sure I am far enough away from the ship because if I hit use the ships tower I will get charged the usage fee.   We plan to use the cell phone a couple of times while at Sea for a maximum 2 minutes at a time just to check in.  So, when I get my cell phone bill I will write post detailing my charges to help you plan for the price of staying connected.

We hit the Pharmacy today to get my wife Bonine for Motion Sickness.  Bonine is supposed to cause very little drowsiness and comes with many rave reviews from clients and other agents in the office.   If you have not cruised because you are concerned about motion sickness, you should give it a try on 3 – 4 nights cruise and take some Bonine with you… as for me, I do not get motion sickness…lucky me!

2 days left, still got to pack, get everything at work squared away, get each kid to their designated grandmother….excitement and stress, I love vacations!  ~ happy sailing!

Reminder, keep checking back as I will be blogging daily from the NCL Pearl.
