2008 Goals: CruiseSource.us

There are millions of blogs out on the internet.  Cruising Travel blogs are a low percentage of all of the blogs out there.   Late in 2007, I started this blog because I found that most cruisers were searching for honest answers to the same questions.  I wanted to create a blog that would answer those questions through my experiences as an agent and cruiser and to also share some of my awesome client’s experiences.   Thousands of visitors later, I find that my blog has become a tool to educate future cruisers.   I wanted to take a couple of minutes here to communicate my goals for the blog in 2008.

My Goals for 2008:

 1.  Attract More Participation from visitors.  Comments from visitors is what really makes a blog work.  I answer every question in a within 24 hours.  Most visitors come here looking for an answer to a specific question.  If you come here looking for an answer and you do not fully fill like you got the answer, leave a comment and I will answer it quickly.  This will help future visitors to the blog because they may have the same question.  When you get back from your cruise feel free to come back to the blog to share your experience.

2.  Post 5 times per week.  To make this blog more relevant and to give you a reason to visit on a regular basis my goal is to post 5 time per week.  But I will not just post to post.  I try to write informative and useful content.   I am also open to any suggestions on subject material.

3. Go on atleast two cruises next year and blog daily from the ship again.

4. Get to 10,000 Visitors per month.   By the end of the year, I would like to have 10,000 visitors per month.  This is the most lofty goal, but if you, the CruiseSource.us visitors post questions and comments and if I post consistantly provide useful content then this goal is attainable.

As always, I thank you for visiting Cruisesource.us, appreciate comments and questions, and I wish you happy sailing in 2008!

[...] I set goals at Dec. 2007 for 2008.  At that time CruiseSource.us was getting about 1000 visitors per month.  I set a goal of hitting 10,000 visitors per month which was fairly absurd, but I believe in setting very high goals.  In September 2009, CruiseSource.us hit over 12,000 visitors.  Most of these visitors were coming to CruiseSource.us because it was the only place that aggregated all CruiseLine Impacts due to the Hurricanes and I was updating it 4 times daily.  My brother and Sister-in-Law were set to be on a Cruise that looked like it had a good chance of being cancelled due to the Hurricanes.  I was giving my family and other cruisers advice real-time on the blog.    [...]
