Day 7: St. Lucia, NCL Pearl Cruise

Today was our final port call…St. Lucia.  Jess had been upset that we had not goteen very much “color” from the sun.  Well, she got what she wished for today.  After a rain shower, we layed out in Rodney’s bay.  A $6 per person taxi ride from the cruise ship.  After a couple of hours in the hot sun, we both are very sunburn.   Outside of fairly constant salesmen, it was a nice beach.  Crystal Blue Waters and almost white sands. If I was going to come back and do a full week at one of the Islands we have been to; St. Lucia would be the pick.    It is one of the largest islands in the caribbean and it offered the most variety.   There are lots of resorts and even some Burger Kings and Dominos.

It is dinner time and then we will catch the Thursday Night Football game.  Only two days left and we are looking forward to getting back to the kids.  Happy Sailing!

  1. Hi, I’ve been following your posts because I am going on the Pearl on Friday and I was wondering what you heard about the Norovirus that was going around while you were on board. Thanks.

  2. Hey Sarah.

The Norovirus was going around while we were onboard. And my posts actually stop because my wife got it on the next to last day of our cruise. We were confined to our room for 24 hours. I had a balcony cabin, so I hung out on the balcony most of the day. I did not get the virus although I was sharing the room with my wife. I do not know what the total number of people who got it was, but it seemed fairly high. Jess got well within 24 hours so we did get to enjoy the last day of our cruise. If on the Dec. 9th sailing they have a similar outbreak, I would eat at the Blue Lagoon Restaraunt instead of the buffets for lunch and breakfast. On all cruises I would give the following advice: try not eat with your hands, use your silverware even on Cheeseburgers. Sanitize your hands constantly, limit shaking of peoples hands, buy travel insurance and limit the number of times you eat at the buffet. Take an herbal supplement with you on the cruise that boosts your immune system. I hope this info helps.
