Fundraising Cruise, Part II
In the first article, Fundraising Cruise, I might have made the whole concept of a fundraising cruise sound too easy. To be honest, we have had a couple fundraising cruise attempts fail. And when I say fail, I just mean that we did the up front planning work with the group leader and then the event never came to fruition.
As far as booking the cruise, collection of payments, answering questions about cruising for your members, planning, and help in creating promotional materials we do most of the work. So all of Cruise Related work is easy for your organization because we do it. If your organization would fail at promoting a Bake sale or Yard sale, then your organization would not be a good candidate for trying to plan a cruise as a fundraiser. Now if your organization has a history of successes in promoting other types of fundraising events, then promoting a Cruise Fundaraiser will be easy and you are the ones that I want to contact me. Once you have momentum of people booking the cruise the groups usually grow pretty fast. And each year they get bigger and bigger with less promotional work.
Our agents take care of everything related to the cruise but it is your job to get your people excited about traveling together and financially benefiting your organization. You are the Cheerleader and Promoter of the event. If you have been successful at other fundraisers, then please contact me. If you have had trouble promoting a yard sale, you may want to get a couple of successful donut fundraisers under your belt first. ` Happy Sailing
