Carnival Destiny, Our Next Cruise

CARNIVAL DESTINY: I am Happy to announce that Jess and I have picked out our next cruise.  We will be going to Key West and Cozumel on a 4 night cruise leaving 10/16 from Miami. I have been having withdrawals from not being on ship since last December. Making my withdrawal even worse is that I have my brother booked on his First Cruise leaving on Sept. 8th.   It has almost been a whole year since our last cruise so we are very excited to have the Carnvial Destiny in our near future!!

With a 7 year old in school and not wanting to leave Baby Cobi for too long, we decided to look at shorter cruises this year.   The trend in the industry is that some of the larger ships (over 90,000 tons) are changing itineraries from 7 night cruises to shorter 4 and 5 night cruises.  So we are taking advantage of the Carnival Destiny departing out of Miami on the 4 night Western Caribbean.  The Carnival Destiny had been making 7 night Southern Caribbean runs out of San Juan. Here are some quick facts on the Destiny:

Total Staterooms – 1,321
Private Balcony Staterooms – 480
Passenger capacity – 3,360
Total crew – 1,040
Officer’s nationality – Italian
Ship size – Large

  1. We’ll be on this sailing too. We are young 50′s with a three year old granddaughter we are bringing to see if she has her sea legs but we’re also taking “us” time and taking advantage of Camp Carnival. Please write back. We have a balcony on Empress Deck. Would love to hear from you.

    Theresa,

We have a balcony on the upper deck. We are addicted to balconies! We are little torn about not bringing our 7 year old…I really wanted to see how the kids program is on the Destiny, so I could review it for the site. So it is great that you came across the blog and that you will be bringing your grand daughter. We will definitely have to meet up on the ship! ~ Rich Tucker

[...] Carnival Destiny, 11 days away This evening, I completed the Carnival Fun Pass and Printed our E-documents.  Things have been hectic with our 7 year old starting school, work, sports, and the media keeps our attention tied to the economy and the election.  There has not been as much free time as normal to dream about being on our upcoming cruise.   Which I think will make it that much better…to get away now for four days will be awesome.  A chance to recharge my batteries and remember it is thesimplething that life is all about.  The sand between my toes, the warm Caribbean Sun, and enjoying a nice cold beverage with my beautiful wife.  Oops, I just caught myself dreaming.   11 more days and we will be in Miami departing on the Carnival Destiny.
