The Norwegian Sky made its maiden voyaged after being refurbished and upfitted with the Freestyle 2.0 enhancements. Plus they had to add the Monte Carlo Styled Casino. The first couple of voyages were a little rough. There several scathing reviews about A/C issues and some on poor service. Since I have my brother sailing on this ship as his first cruise, I have to admit I became a little concerned.
So I contacted my PR contact at NCL on July 31st, and this was her comment: “On the first few runs, we had some intermittent problems with the air conditioning system in some staterooms. However, the ship has identified the impacted staterooms and the on-board engineering team, with the support of NCL’s technical support team, has been working diligently to resolve this situation.”
You have to be careful when you read reviews on the forum websites. There are some people who have a bad time just about anywhere they go. And those same people like to use forum websites as a bathroom stall where they can write whatever they want and not have any repercussions. In some cases while aboard the ship, they hold the Cruise lines “hostage” by threatening to write negative reviews if their every demand is not satisfied. There have actually been cases where Cruise lines have banned passengers due to cruising with them and writing uncalled for negative reviews after multiple sailings.
Here is a recent review on the NCL Sky from Cruise Critic Member CurlyQmomma, it sounds like NCL has fixed some of the earlier issues:

I love that you can pick the time and place you eat and it can be different each day.
The service was great. There were small issues with language and general knowledge but it appeard they had employees in teams with one more fluent/experience. Even the people who were confused were very nice and trying to due a good job.
The better resturaunts are great if you are someone who enjoys more high end food. Food and service is great. We went to LeBistro excellent, Cagneys was very good. We went to the dining room the second night and the food was also very good.
The food was definetly better than Carnival.
The island was great.
The room & A/C were fine. We had a balcony and used it alot. The room size would be small with more than two people.
When we got on the boat (1:30pm)our toliet didn’t work but it was fixed within an hour and they had 2-$25 OBC sitting on our beds. There were bathrooms in the front of the boat.
Cons:
We did come back from our excursion and had no water. No one answered when we dialed 20. In fact the only bad service we got was when we dialed 20.
Breakfast was the same every day.
Upscale resturaunts have an up charge and then there is an additional charge for certain menu items.
Carpet in room was very dirty kept my sandals on all the time.
The excursion (clear kayak) was not exactly what we thought it was advertised as. But the crew was professional and we did enjoy it.
We travel alot and know that nowhere is perfect. Any resturaunt could have a new employee or hotel have maintenance problem. NCL did seem to care about doing a good job. Everyone was smiling and responding with customers.
What I would want to tell NCL if they read this board.
Admit your problems. I think it would have been nice to have been told of problems before discovering them on our own. When we had no water after being in Nassau all day, we would have appreciated a note that said that. Like I said before when we dialed 20 about the water no one answered and we had to fine a crew member. With the toliet we called 20 and got a rude man on the line.

We hope you had a nice day in the Bahamas. Unfortunately we are having some maintenance problems and had to turn off the water. You have our insurance that we our diligently working on this and will have the water working as soon as possible. Once again we are sorry for any inconveniences. There are bathrooms in the front of the ship that are working. Please asking any crew member and they will direct you. Please accept this free drink voucher in one of our lovely bars or poolside while you wait.
