My brother and Lauren, AKA the sister-in-law, are boarding their flight to Miami as we speak. They have left the kids with Nana, and fly to Miami as Hurricane Ike gets closer. They waited last minute to buy their hotel room for tonight. Thanks to the slow economy and the active hurricane season, they got a great deal. If you have some extra money, currently cruise and vacation deals are the norm…a year from now everyone is going to be complaining because there are no last minute deals…you got to try take advantage of the poor economy now. You will be better off depositing now for a cruise in 2009 because you will be locking in todays low rates.
Tomorrow, Mike and Lauren will board the NCL Sky for their first cruise. As of now it looks like Ike has moved far enough south to not have hug impact ontheir cruise vacation. Due to their unpredictability, I do not want to get over confident. It has been a stressful week, tracking the storms. Traveling during hurricane season will teach at least one life lesson, try not to worry about those things out of your control. When I get word on how everything is in Miami, I will post it here. ~ Happy Sailing
