The last 3 years very few cruise ships had to alter their itinerary due to Hurricanes and Tropical Storms. Now that I have booked my Brother and his wife on the first cruise we have a train of Tropical Storms headed toward Florida andthe Caribbean. I have my fingers crossed that Hurricane Hannah, recently downgraded to a TS will be out of the way by Sunday and that the NCL Sky will get out on 9/8 before Tropical Storm Ike gets to Florida.
My Next Cruise on the Carnival Destiny is leaving on Oct. 16th which is in hurricane season too. We travel during this season because it is the best value. We buy Travel Insurance and plan on possibly being a little flexible.
If you have a cruise vacation planned like my family in the next month, then you are probably watching the Weather Channel very closely. You can check the Hurricane Tracker page here at CruiseSource to get the daily updates from the cruise lines. When you get back from your vacation let us know how it turned out and offer any advice you have from your cruise during Hurricane Season.
