Shorty Awards – @CruiseSource Recap

One of the best nights of my life. The people who put together the Shorty Awards event did a great job. Open bar, sponsors including the Pepsi and the Knight Foundation, celebrities, live streaming, live chat stream through Twitter and the WSJ, lots of Media and a well chosen venue. While backstage we got to mingle with McHammer, Gary Vernachuk, and the other award winners. One winner flew from Russia and an other from Australia. After the award ceremony we spent an hour in a green room being interviewed by the press. My interviews from the event ended up on Business Week, Wired Magazine, and some foreign press. The Shorty Awards hosts and planners did an excellent job creating a very memorable event. At the Ceremony, I was the second winner to accept my award. I used my 140 character speech to Launch the SoFresh Social Media Group Cruise. I even had the link to a page detailing the Cruise. Several of the other Shorty Awards winners will be Guest Hosts on the Social Media Cruise in November 2009. Overall, the whole trip to NYC was one of my best experiences ever. The best part was meeting some of my favorite Twitter Personalities like @AlohaArleen, @ADHDParenting, @girlwithnoname, @GaryVee, @madmain, @WaltRebeiro, @Charlestrippy and many more. Unfortunately, we only got to hang out a few hours before we all headed out.

I am very thankful to all of my followers who took the time to vote for @CruiseSource for the Shorty Award in Travel. I had one of the best experiences of my life and I owe all to my followers!
