Carnival Liberty vs. Carnival Freedom

It is the Battle Royal between two heavy hitters!  They are sister ships but they are battling it out for supremecy of their class.  It is often the case that the younger ship of the same class of ship is actually the slightly better designed ship…and I feel that this is the case of the Carnival Freedom (built 2007) vs. the Carnival Liberty (built 2004).   If you are trying to choose between the two ships, it is cool because they are similarly priced and both leave from South Florida.

Remember this is all my opinion, but I do have video for you to check out yourself….Both Ships decor is pretty wild. Carnival and designer Farkas did not leave an inch of the Freedom undecorated. Overall, I liked Carnival Freedom better than the Carnival Liberty. On both Ships, Camp Carnival for the kids is awesome. Your kids will not want to leave! On both ships, the Inside and Oceanview cabins are larger than the other cruise lines. I like the way that Carnival has all of the adult entertainment areas in one section of the ship on the same deck, so at night you can easily go back and forth between the Piano Bar, Karaoke Bar, Lounge, and Dance Club. The Carnival Freedom and Liberty’s top level suites are not as nice the other cruise lines. My major disappointment with the Liberty was that the Penthouse Staterooms did not have the Flat Screen TVs.  Where as all the cabins on the CCL Freedom had the FlatScreen TVs. I understand that Carnival has 1000s of cabins that need to be upfitted with the new flatscreen tvs across the Fleet, but atleast upgrade all of your category 12 penthouses with flatscreen tvs.

This is one of my favorite videos because I was very impressed with Carnival Freedom’s 9A family suite. If choosing between the Cat 12 Penthouse and 9A Family Suite, I would go with the 9A for the wrap around Balcony!
