In today’s 3rd quarter earnings announcement from Royal Caribbean, not only did they report a 55% increase in 3rd quarter profits but they also confirmed that they’re seeing cruise rates steadily increasing which I’ve been stating for several weeks now. I recommended booking your 2011 cruises a few weeks ago during the World’s Largest Cruise Night sales event because I believe the earlier you book your 2011 the better the deal you will get. It’s been a couple of years since we’ve seen a cruise market with ascending prices, but it appears that we are now.
I missed the World’s Largest Cruise Night, now what?
Between now and the end of the year is historically the slow booking season for cruises. The cruise lines are keeping 2011 rates low to entice early bookings. As more people book early they will steadily increase the rates. For those of you who know you are going to take a Spring or Summer 2011 Cruise, I would book it now. In most cases the deposit is fully refundable until the full payment is due, so you can lock in today’s rates with little to no risk.
