Smoking River Cruise Deal–Part 2
Last week I told you about Avalon River Cruises and our absolutely unbeatable deal for select sailings in 2011–ideal for the last minute shopper since they were all departing between July and October. This week I have something for those of you that are thinking 2012.
This Ama Waterways cruise will start October 4, 2012 from Nuremburg, Germany to Budapest Hungary along the Danube on the AmaCerto–so new that she’s not even in service yet! The AmaCerto is the pinnacle of what a river cruise ship can offer. Not only are shore excursions included at each stop, you can even take a bike off the ship for local sight-seeing or to ride between pier stops! Ama pours unlimited wines and beers of the region with dinner, and each stateroom provides free Internet, hit movies and English-language TV.
Because we’re part of Travel Leaders Group we were able to charter the entire ship–as a result we can add numerous amenities and still sell it for less than their normal fares! Normally priced starting at $2,999, we start at $2,889 per person. . .and we also include these extras:
- Cruise Holidays Escort (we’re part of the Cruise Holidays organization)
- Travel Guard Travel Insurance
- Transfers to and from the Ship
- Guided Tour of Schonnbrunn Palace in Vienna
- Two Cocktail Parties, plus a Gala Dinner
- $50 per person Onboard Credit for booking by September 15, 2011
Now, if I was flying all the way to Europe I’d leverage my airfare by getting in a few days early to sight-see in Prague. We’re offering a three-day pre-cruise package that includes lodging, a city tour of Prague, daily breakfast and then a deluxe European motorcoach transfer from Prague to Nuremburg (with a stop at Karlovy Vary)–all for $690 per person. We also have some one and two night add-ons that are a bit less but don’t include the tour in Prague. This can’t be booked online, so just give us a call at 800.668.6414. Want to share with friends? I’ve inlcuded a printable flyer below.
Going the other Direction–Hawaii!
We’re seeing some wonderful deals on Hawaii cruises this fall along with some neat itineraries from continental U.S. departure ports. As a cruiser, the choices for Hawaii are greater than ever and you get to see a lot of the islands without any effort or wasted time flying between them.
Two Ways to Get There/Two Lengths of Cruise
If your time is limited to one week, then you’ll probably be flying to Honolulu and boarding Norwegian’s Pride of America. This cruise will take you to four ports in seven days, and is the only Hawaii-based ship sailing today. Here are my picks for shorter itineraries.
Norwegian’s Pride of America October 29th departure includes $100 per stateroom in Onboard Credit and a bottle of wine for any cabin category. If I’m going to Hawaii, I’m definitely spending the $1199 to get a balcony, but interior cabins do start at $949. Can’t wait ’til fall? We have a last minute departure on July 23 that’s just $999–a great rate for a summer departure!
Celebrity’s Century is doing a 10 Night One-Way voyage out of Ensenda, Mexico (about an hour south of San Diego), departing November 1. It’s a very cool itinerary–you’ll sail by the erupting volcano, Mt. Kilauea, during the evening giving you a dramatic experience of this natural wonder. Then you get to visit Hilo, Kona, Mauia and finally Honolulu where you’ll overnight on the ship. Pricing for this starts at $899 and we’re offering $175 per stateroom in Onboard Credits.
If you can swing two weeks or more, and enjoy time at sea, there are a variety of cruises that depart from and return to the west coast ports in Vancouver, San Francisco, Los Angeles, or San Diego. For people that can drive to one of these ports, that means no air. But for anyone, the prices are pretty great! Among those, I have a couple of picks that I think are winners:
Princess Cruises’ Golden Princess from Los Angeles for 14 nights starting at $1199 per person, or $1299 Oceanview on November 9th. Great ship and four ports of call in Hawaii. This represents savings up to $1000 per couple vs. Princess’ launch fares which in fact are prices that others have paid!
Really have some time to spend this fall? How about Holland America’s 30 Night Cruise from San Diego? This one will get you to three Hawaiian islands, and then will cross the International Date Line on its way to Fanning Island, Rarotonga, Raiatea, Bora Bora (overnight stay), Moorea, Papeete (another overnight), and Nuku Hiva. AND, you’ll cross the equator too–talk about a milestone cruise! The Westerdam departs on September 29 and prices start at $4,299–book a Balcony or higher and we’ll pay your gratuities which is a $660 per couple value!
Let me end by mentioning that Martha will return next week–we can’t wait to see her. I hope you’ve enjoyed my last two posts and look forward to “guest posting” This Week at Cruise Deals every now and then![box] click here to subscribe to CruiseSource.us [/box]
