#SeaTweetup – 3 Night Bahamas Cruise Tweetup on the NCL Sky

We are excited to announce that @CruiseSource & @NCLFreestyle have teamed up with following members of the south Florida Social Media community: @socialbuzztv @iamJeffCohen @SoulofMiami @thepumagirl @socialesquire @aubrey_swanson to plan the first #SeaTweetup.

#SeaTweetup Backstory

Our first Social Fresh Social Media Conference at Sea sailed out of Miami in November 2009.  The night before the cruise we co-hosted a Bon Voyage Tweetup with the Social Media Club of South Florida @SMCSF and @MiamiandBeaches.  At the time, it was the largest tweetup in Miami history with over 200 in attendance.  With the huge success of the bon-voyage tweetup and the strength of the Miami social media community – it only makes sense to throw a Tweetup at Sea.

Earlier this year, we worked with Norwegian Cruise Line to assist in planning the first ever non-passenger Tweetups on a cruise ship while it was docked in Miami. On several occasions, NCL hosted these tweetups aboard the brand new NCL Epic.  Due to homeland security policies, the number of attendees were limited for these tweetups – and each one soldout quickly.  The tweetup attendees toured and ate lunch on the NCL Epic.

After hanging out on the NCL Epic for a few hours, it became evident to several of the attendees that a 3 night cruise would be perfect for a social media networking event.  Cruising is the most social form of vacationing and the perfect spot for networking with other social media enthusiasts.  So the idea for Miami’s first Tweetup at Sea was born – and #SeaTweetup is it’s hashtag.  We’re excited to be a participating in the planning!
