Due to our continuous cruise price tracking at CruiseDeals.com, I’ve been interviewed by the Wall Street Journal, NY Times, Money Magazine, Forbes, etc. about cruise pricing trends and deals. I make that expertise available on Twitter with the @CruiseDeals Twitter account which has been recommended by recently by NY Times and Money Magazine.
On Monday, I asked the CruiseDeals Twitter followers to let me know what cruise they are looking at and I’ll tell them the best time to book it.
Here are some of the cruises the @CruiseDeals followers were looking at with my responses:
Twitter Inquiry: “@CruiseDeals looking to book a royal carribean cruise going out of Baltimore December 17th …best time to book? 🙂 willing to wait last min”
The October 20th, Enchantment dropped $240 per person for one day only this week. If the December 17th sailing is going to drop in price it will be for one-day only on a Tuesday. I would guess that it would happen 3 – 5 weeks from now. The one day price drop will most likely be for the balcony category which is currently starting at $1175. The inside price of $593 is pretty cheap compared to the other dates, so I do not expect it to drop.
In researching the Enchantment of the Seas departing Baltimore on December 17th, I noticed that the Carnival Pride is departing on December 18th with a similar itinerary. The Balcony Cabins are starting at $649. That is $526 savings per person. I’m a value guy… and that is a great value. Check the Carnival Pride December 18th, 2011 availability.
Twitter Inquiry: “@CruiseDeals HAL Maasdam 12/21/12; HAL Maasdam 12/23/11?”
Response from @CruiseDeals [4 Tweets]: The lowest rate on the HAL Maasdam 2.23.11 recently went up from $1499 to $1599… November and December cruise pricing is pretty weak, except for the holidays…. With the recent price increase on the cheapest inside and the fact it is over Christmas, I’d say book it soon. For the 2012 cruise, I’d wait until National Cruise Week in Oct. & see what extras HAL is throwing in for 2012 cruises.
Twitter Inquiry: “hawaii from hnl Sept 2012?”
@CruiseDeals Response: NCL’s starting rate is $1099, we reserved space at $1049 + $75 shipboard credit… we have a few left: http://ow.ly/6yKgY The deposit is fully refundable to lock in todays rate… if rate drops, we can get you the lower rate. There is a chance that on October 17th, for national cruise week, that we we’ll be able to add a little extra to the spending credit.
