In 2011 thanks to the explosion of online social platforms, Single Cruisers booked via SinglesCruise.com were able to interact way before cruising together! SinglesCruise.com has had their own private message boards for years but in 2011 the pre-cruise interaction between cruisers online skyrocketed. Many of them now meet virtually before they meet in person. Some have even decided to even date before they meet on the cruise!
I believe in 2012 we will see an even greater pre-cruise involvement. Combining Facebook and a Singles Cruise has proven to be a wonderful way for people to meet and gain insight to someone’s personality without the anonymity and pressure that online dating can sometimes create.
Another great opportunity that online communities have provided our cruisers is to create “reunions.” Our guests have actually designed other trips, such as weekends in Vegas or ski trips that they call “reunions.” They do these in different cities for SinglesCruise.com past guests. They connect with all of the SinglesCruise.com guests through facebook. Facebook has changed the introduction of SinglesCruise.com. Now guests can meet before they meet! Thanks to the SinglesCruise.com facebook page and our active online singles, SinglesCruise.com has yet another way to keep in touch with old friends and meet new ones.
We expect our vibrant online community to continue to organically grow the number of opportunities to meet at these non-cruise ‘reunions’ in 2012.
Singles group cruising has always been a great way to meet other like-minded singles. I’m excited about how bright the future is for our cruisers to maintain these relationships for a lifetime thanks to our online communities.
