Shocked by some 2012 Bermuda Cruise Prices

A good friend of mine [@Milo_z on the Twitters] asked me to research Bermuda Cruises for his parents… what I found shocked me.

In May, his parents can cruise to Bermuda for 7-nights on Holland America Veendam for $300 less than the Royal Caribbean Explorer of the Seas which is only a 5 night cruise.  Both ships depart out of the NYC/NJ area the same week.  Ms Veendam will spend 4 days in Bermuda compared to 1.5 days for the Explorer of the Seas.

Of course, I 100% recommended the Veendam for Kevin’s parents.  Getting a 5-star experience for 2 more days for $300 less is a no-brainer.

Here are all the options that I gave Kevin for that weekend:

Holland America Veendam departing NYC

Explorer of the seas is In Bermuda from Monday May 7th 9 AM – Tuesday May 8th 4PM

Enchantment of the Seas departing Baltimore:

6 night Bermuda Cruise on Royal Caribbean Enchantment of the Seas departing on May 11, 2012
Oceanview Cabin on Deck 4 Total Price for 2 passengers is $1872.30 including all taxes.

The Enchantment will be in Bermuda from Sunday May 13th at 3 PM – Tuesday May 15th 12 PM.
