Costa Concordia has to be evacuated off the coast of Italy

Costa Concordia runs aground

Costa Concordia Incident PhotoI’m currently following the Costa Concordia incident live on Twitter.   The Costa Concordia ran into trouble near the island of Giglio, off the Tuscan Coast.   They have evacuated 4,000+ passengers and crew lifeboats, boats, & a helicopter.  As of now, it sounds like the Costa Concordia is not in danger of sinking although it is listing 20 degrees.  [update 11pm ET] new photos coming through look like the Costa Concordia is in danger of sinking.  Follow @CruiseSource for updates on status of the Concordia.

[update 4:40 AM ET] Costa Concordia lays completely on her side off the shores of Giglio.  Click here ->   Concordia photos and videos after daybreak.

6 People have been reported dead by the Italian Coast Guard according to the Examiner.
