Cruise Specialists Announces New Craft Beer Theme Cruise

Cruise Specialists invites beer aficionados to join the first “California Beer Festival at Sea” theme cruise sailing up the Pacific Coast next spring.  Hosted by a California Brew Master, the California Beer Festival at Sea will offer guests the opportunity to enjoy great craft beer, mouth-watering food, live music, special tours and tasting events.

The California Beer Festival at Sea will take place on the Celebrity Solstice departing from Ensenada, Mexico, on May 6, 2013, and will visit San Diego, Los Angeles, Santa Barbara, San Francisco, Astoria, Vancouver, and Seattle. 

Growing Popularity of Craft Beer:
“Beer may be the new wine in terms of methodology in brewing and diversity of flavors,” said Greg Nacco, vice president of Cruise Specialists.  “If you consider all the different styles of beer in the world and how they are made, it is going to be a fabulously fun time aboard the Solstice spending time with true Craft Beer brewers.”

According to the Brewers Association (the trade association representing the majority of U.S. brewing companies), craft beer has experienced five consecutive years of double digit growth in the United States and is outperforming all other beer categories.  The association reports there are now 2,126 breweries in the United States — an increase of 350 additional breweries since June 2011.
