Club Med: When you’re ready to Stay Ashore
Did you know CruiseDeals can also help you plan a resort vacation? Yeah, our name has “cruise” in it, but our veteran travel planners are capable of so much more than just helping you plan a cruise.
One resort company we like a lot is Club Med because there are some similarities to cruising as well as some positive differences. Want to go to an exotic or sunny spot? Check! How about having a lot of activities included in the price of your vacation? Check! Like the fact that on a cruise you have all your dining included? Check! Then, there are some things that Club Med offers that are not found on most cruises. . . for example, it’s an all-inclusive experience which means no bill for beverages, non-motorized water sports, and a whole host of activities. We also like the fact that they have such a broad range of destinations. For North Americans, their resorts in Florida, Mexico, and the Caribbean are the most popular, but they also have properties in China, Thailand, the Maldives, and even skiing in Europe.
Who Goes to Club Med?
Club Med appeals to families as well as adult-only adventurers. Those resorts that are “naturals” for families offer a wide range of programs specifically for different age groups, while those that are more exotic will generally be less populated with youngsters. And Club Med has a few resorts that are adults only. No matter where you go, you’ll find Club Med still has the spirit of fun that started it all, but has become much more plush than it’s early days.
We put Club Med in the same category as Contemporary cruises (Royal Caribbean, Norwegian, and Princess)—with very accessible price points that represent a great deal because of all the inclusions. If you’re looking for a more upscale vacation, there are some “resort-within-a-resort” locales, where you’ll find upscale accommodations, amenities and exclusivity.
Just like the cruise lines, Club Med will offer special sales from time to time. New to Club Med right now is special pricing for children; kids 4 years old and under stay for FREE and kids 5 years old to 12 years old also can stay for 40-50% off!
