On the Cruise Deals Facebook Page, I asked the 136,000 Cruise Deals fans what ship did they cruise on in 2013 and if they’d recommend it in 2014. Below are their 2014 cruise recommendations.
Below, I’ve summarized the 200 responses and included 3 awesome cruise photos shared with the responses. Just click on the comments link to see all of their responses.
2014 Cruise Recommendations
We received over 200 responses and within the responses some trends stuck out to me.
Top 3 trends:
#1. Almost everyone who answered LOVED their 2013 cruise regardless of cruise line. The people who have cruised on multiple cruise lines enjoyed all of their cruises, but feel that one cruise line or size of ship fits them best.
When you first start cruising, test out 2 or 3 different cruise lines. Each cruise line and even cruise ship is different. Note to first time cruisers: The Liberty of the Seas is a great ship for your first cruise. It is the largest and newest ship that offers short 4 or 5 night cruises.
#2. The Celebrity Solstice class is highly recommended. The Celebrity Solstice class includes the Celebrity Reflection, Celebrity Silhouette, Celebrity Eclipse, and Celebrity Equinox.
I’m surprised by the number of people who are not familiar with Celebrity Cruise Lines. Celebrity is Royal Caribbean’s premium cruise line. The Solstice Class ships are large, stylishly luxurious ships that offer some of the best entertainment at sea.
Due to the fact there are 5 of these large ships and that Celebrity Cruises are not quite a household name, Celebrity represents one of the best values in cruising. In 2014, they are offering your choice of their Adult Beverage Package [valued at $88/day] for FREE, Pre-Paid Gratuities, or up to $300 onboard credit on almost all sailings. CLICK HERE for details.
#3. People love the new cruise ships. As you read through the comments of the Facebook post, you’ll see people raving about the Norwegian Breakaway, Royal Princess, Royal Caribbean Allure and Oasis of the Seas, the Celebrity ships mentioned above, etc
It makes sense. Who doesn’t love the new car smell?
The cruise lines push the envelope with design, architecture, technology and innovation with each new ship. The entertainment on board a new cruise ship rivals what you find in Vegas and on a cruise, it is included in the price.
In the comments of the post on Facebook above, we had a few commenters include a photo from their cruise. It just so happens that every photo shared in the comments was from a Celebrity Solstice class ship!
