Kids Cruise Free Frequently Asked Questions

As I was quoted in WSJ Marketwatch, the Royal Caribbean Kids Cruise Free sale is the most aggressive sale we’ve ever seen from Royal Caribbean.

This unprecedented sale has spurred lots of new bookings as well as lost of questions about the sale on the CruiseDeals.com Facebook page.

Here are the answers to the most frequently asked questions:

Kids Cruise Free Frequently Asked Questions:

#1. What is the cut-off age?  There is no age limit.  It really is a sale that allows the 3rd and 4th passenger in each cabin to cruise for free!

#2. Are there cabins that hold 5 people?  The typical cabin will hold up to 4 passengers.  So for the lowest advertised rates, a family of 5 would need to split up into 2 cabins.  Each cabin requires two full paying guests, so in this case a family of 5 would only get 1 kid for free.

There are some family cabins and suites that do hold 5 – 8 passengers.  The availability of these cabins is very limited.  You have to call in to get quotes on these types of cabins.  Call 800.668.6414

#3. Which Royal Caribbean cruises are eligible? May – December 15th  to the Caribbean, Bahamas, Bermuda, Europe, and Australia excluding the Quantum of the Seas.  Space is limited, so each individual sailing can sell out at any time. Click Here to Start your search.

#3. On top of the Kids Cruise Free, how do I get the Free Gratuities?  Royal Caribbean is not offering the free gratuities.   The free gratuities is a CruiseDeals.com exclusive offer on select categories based on price.  As a bonus offer, CruiseDeals.com is paying gratuities on most oceanview and balcony cabins for the 1st/2nd passengers [$24/day value].  There are even some Summer sailings where CruiseDeals.com is paying gratuities for inside cabins!

#4. What is the deposit amount to reserve a cabin?  The deposit is based on the length of the sailing.  With the kids cruise free sail, the deposit is 50% off the typical deposit.   The deposit is fully refundable up to the final payment date.  With a low risk-free deposit, why not lock in your family cruise now?

#5. If it’s kids cruise free, why am I having to pay taxes? Yes, Uncle Sam is getting the taxes on these cruises.  You are not being charged the Cruise Fare and Port Charges for the 3rd and 4th passenger. We found cruises where the kids cruise free sale is an actual savings of over $1,000.   If you are a family of 3 or 4, this will be the best time to book your 2014 Royal Caribbean Cruise.

#6. Is there childcare included?  This is what sets taking the kids on a cruise vacation apart from almost any other type of vacation.  If you take the kids to the beach for a week, you are responsible for making sure they are entertained every hour of each day.  You get very little time alone.  Royal Caribbean has awesome kids programs, that are included in the price of the cruise.  Late night, they offer child sitting services for a very reasonable price.

#7. When does the Kids Cruise Free Sale end?  The sale ends on March 31st, but I recommend not waiting.  This sale has been the most popular cruise sale of 2014.  Cabins that hold 3 and 4 passengers are limited.  And with the 50% reduced deposits, it makes it easier on the wallet to reserve your cabin.  So don’t wait, find your cruise now!
