A couple of weeks ago, I flew down to Miami for meetings with a few of the cruise lines and had the pleasure of staying at the Marriott Biscayne Bay.
I’ve stay at the Marriott Biscayne Bay a couple of times and it is in my list of top Pre-Cruise hotels in Miami. Here is why:
Marriott Biscayne Bay, Miami Pre-Cruise Hotel Review
Location: The Miami Cruise Ship terminal is a 10 minute cab or shuttle ride. I could see the Carnival Ecstasy coming into the Port of Miami from my room. The Marriott Biscayne Bay is connected to a small indoor retail outlet with a drug store, several restaurants and a Salon. There is also a marina behind the property offering great views at sunrise and sunset.
Although there is not much you can walk to outside of the connected restaurants mentioned above, Bayside outdoor shopping mall is loaded with restaurants and entertainment. Bayside is about a 3 minute cab ride from the Marriott Biscayne Bay.

The Rooms are nicely appointed with AWESOME views! I wish I had the bed at my home – I got a great night sleep.
Dining: At the Marriott Biscayne Bay, there are several dining options without having to walk outdoors.
The restaurants offer Seafood, Steaks, Chinese & Sushi, and a bar/grill. Catch Seafood Grill & Bar and Tony Chan Chinese and Sushi have great views of the Marina behind the Marriott Biscayne Bay.
On this trip, I ate breakfast at Catch Bar/Grill. I opted for THE Miami Omelette over the breakfast buffet [when in Miami have THE Miami].

In past trips, I’ve eaten at Los Gauchitos for breakfast and Tony Chan’s Sushi for dinner in the connected indoor retail area. Both restaurants are excellent.

The rates are affordable. Parking is $30 a night, so if you have a rental car or driving down to your cruise you’ll want to include the $30/night parking rate into your budget.
Other Amenities: I’m a big fan of the gym. the have cardio machines and separate free-wight room. The best part is that you can see your cruise ship from the cardio machines.
They have a pool. I would like it better if it had a view of the Marina. For meeting planners, the Marriott Biscayne Bay has 20,000 square feet of meeting space.
