Last week, I had the honor of speaking at Nexion’s yearly conference where I taught travel agents how to use social media for their business.
The conference was held at the Orlando Renaissance Hotel at SeaWorld. I stayed on property Wednesday – Sunday.
I have plenty of great things to say about the resort, but what stood out the most from beginning to end was the awesome staff.
The Renaissance Orland at Seaworld Resort Service
When I arrived, Elvis at the front desk was extremely helpful in letting me know the multiple options I had for room location. They have interior rooms with balconies overlooking the enormous atrium.
Elvis explained that the balcony rooms overlooking the atrium are not noisy [a question he gets asked a lot].
The other options were views of SeaWorld, the city and I think Disney. At night you can see the fireworks from one side of the hotel. Some of the exterior rooms have balconies and some do not. I asked him if he could hook me up with an exterior balcony on a higher floor that and of the sides would be fine.
Elvis found me a Balcony Room on the 8th floor facing the SeaWorld park. Note: If you enjoy sunrises, this is the side of the resort to stay on.
Here is my balcony selfie I took for my 7 year old daughter showing her my view of SeaWorld in the background:
After a quick stop by the room, I headed downstairs for a burger and a beer. When I set at the bar, Daniel the bartender asked me my name and introduced himself. Each night, the new bartenders would introduce themselves and the bartenders I had already met remembered my name.
Talk about making your guests feel special.
At lunch, the next day we ate lunch on property at Tradewinds. The Fish Tacos were good, but the two of us who ordered them agreed that they had a little too much guacamole. At the end of lunch, our waitress gave us survey cards and we mentioned the Guac on the tacos. She said to definitely put that on the survey cards because they really do make changes based on guest comments. I believe her that really do care.
At dinner the second night, we ate at the Sushi restaurant on property. When we ordered our drinks, one of my tablemates ordered bottle water. When the drinks were brought out, our waiter had forgotten her water. When he returned with her bottled water, he said “that’s on me since I forgot it”. The whole table was impressed.
It prompted me to share a recent story where I had to drive back to restaurant in my home town because they forgot a side salad and the restaurant did not do anything to make up for it. And I had spend gas money to get back to the restaurant.
After the waiter comped the water for simply forgetting about it, everyone at the table shared stories about how they had experienced similar awesome service throughout the Orlando Renaissance at SeaWorld.
To top off the great service, when I arrived at the airport, I realized that I forgot my passport. I did not really need to fly… but I did need to get it back.
So, I quickly called the Renaissance Hotel. The front desk connected me to security who had already received the Passport from Housekeeping and was preparing to Fedex me the Passport.
The service at the Orlando Renaissance was excellent!

Here are the photos of my room. The room was spacious, with a well-appointed equally spacious bathroom.
Orlando Renaissance Hotel at SeaWorld for Conferences
The main purpose of my stay was the Nexion Conference. The Conference facilities are awesome.
They have 76 meeting rooms with a total of 185,000 in conference room space. The maximum capacity in a single room is the Oceans Ballroom with a capacity of 3,628 guests.

While I did not have time to enjoy the pool due to working, I did take the time to get a photo of the pool:

If you are thinking about holding a conference or other event in the Orlando area, I recommend considering the Renaissance Orlando at SeaWorld. The service, rooms, restaurants, and conference facilities are all outstanding.[fblike]
