Recently out of dry dock, the Oasis of the Seas is ready for her upcoming transition to Dynamic Dining.
Starting March 14th on the Oasis and May 20th on the Allure, guests will have the option to dine at over 20 different restaurants on each ship. Until that time, they might see peeks of what’s happening with changes in the menu but they will continue to choose between traditional or my time dining.
NEW OASIS DINING OPTIONS
The Opus dining room which spanned 3 decks will be transformed in to three unique dining experiences:
Grande will be the only formal dining experience every night with delicious meals from lobster to steak.
American Icon Grill will serve up traditional cuisine, not bar food mind you, but delicious meals that will make you think of childhood around the dinner table.
Silk will transport you to other lands with the exotic décor and spices.
Three other restaurants are being overhauled to bring you some brand new experiences:
Izumi will be redesigned to provide sushi and table side cooking on hot rocks.
Wonderland will be the newest addition providing elaborate presentations of food in a Mad Hatter designed dining room.
Sabor Taqueria and Tequila Bar on Oasis of the Seas
My personal favorite announcement is that the Seafood Shack will be the new Sabor Taqueria and Tequila Bar.
I ate at Sabor Modern Dining on the Navigator of the Seas. Out of 30+ cruises, Sabor has been my favorite dining experience at sea. I’m assuming the authentic Mexican flavors will carry over from the Modern Dining experience to the Taqueria. Here are a few of my photos from Sabor on Navigator of the Seas.
The Jalapeno Cucumber Margarita is highly recommended!
OASIS OF THE SEAS REVISIONS
While the new food options alone are enough to excite us, Royal Caribbean decided not to stop there and has a few more tricks up their sleeve. First the retail area will be updated with a few new stores including Kate Spade, Michael Kors and Brito.
Next is an addition to the Suite area of a lounge and sun deck that are exclusive to suite guests, providing them a little extra privacy when enjoying time on board the ship. Additionally the new Coastal Kitchen with Mediterranean and California farm to table inspired foods will be available exclusively for suite guests.
High Speed Internet: For those who need to stay connect while on vacation, the Oasis of the Seas has been upgraded with the latest technology to give you internet speeds comparable to what you find on land.
Adding to the good news, is her sister ship, Allure of the Seas will be fully upgraded with everything above plus a surprise or two by May 2015.
