Besides the weather, this is the my favorite time of year because we get to spend extra time with our families. While you have everyone together, it’s a great time to start planning your 2015 family cruise vacation.
Below, I’ve highlighted a few of our favorite ships for multi-generational cruising with links to the best deals.
Ships designed with your entire family in mind
Selecting the right cruise ship is incredibly important when booking a cruise for your family. You have to look at more than the sticker price and the size of the ship. You have to make sure that there is something on board that each person in the group can enjoy – or you may end up with a less than thrilling experience. With so many ships to choose from, we made it a little easier for you by selecting the ships that will best accommodate a range of ages and interests.

Royal Caribbean Quantum of the Seas
The newly launched Quantum of the Seas is AMAZING! I can’t say enough about all the exciting “firsts” on board. If you have teenagers, you know it can be hard to keep them smiling but you can hop aboard this ship care-free – from roller skating, ski diving, bumper cars, circus school, and large screens on the pool deck to great food options without the hassles of reservations or formal wear, you will see them smiling from ear to ear. And with the kids program broken into age groups – Teens, Kids, and Babies your younger children will have a blast with activities created at their age level. This ship is not designed just for kids though, there are plenty of activities just for adults like the the relaxing spa, large casino, discos, and Broadway shows. Not to mention the Bionic Bar where a robot bartender makes you the perfect martini! 2015 Cruise Deals for Quantum of the Seas
Disney Cruise Line Disney Dream
When you think of a Disney Cruise, you may think it is best for elementary age children, that is until you have sailed with Disney! Disney Dream is built to provide spaces for your family to hang together, and to give you time to relax on your own. It is 40% larger than Disney Magic and Disney Wonder and includes nightclubs, adult-only dining and a relaxing pool for adults, along side the 3D movies, deck parties and and AquaDuck splash center. This is a great option for multi-generation families since there are so many option to do on your own or altogether. 2015 Cruise Deals for Disney Dream
Norwegian Cruise Line Norwegian Getaway
The newest ship in the fleet, the Norwegian Getaway has already made a big splash in the industry. Designed with a relaxed environment, you can stroll along the oceanfront walkway lined with shops, restaurants and bars -stopping to grab a bit or buy a souvenir at your leisure. Days on this ship can be filled with relaxation or high energy thrills like the Free Fall water-slide! I would recommend this ship for kids 3 to 17 as Norwegian does not have a kids’ program for toddlers, but does offer a a wide variety of options for older kids. Cuisine aboard Norwegian Getaway can accommodate any pallet, from 3 course dining to buffets and burgers, picky eaters can have it there way! Broadway shows, room service, and the Ice Bar open until the wee hours are just a few of the perks to look forward to in additional to the kids programs. But the coolest feature is the IConcierge app that allows you to stay in touch with each other aboard and keeps you up to date on ship activities. 2015 Cruise Deals for Norwegian Getaway
Carnival Cruise Line Carnival Breeze
Carnival Breeze is a great option for a Caribbean cruise for active families. Although there are tranquil spots aboard like the Serenity Adult Only Retreat – this ship has a ton of high energy activities like waterslides, concerts, game shows, nightclubs, comedy shows and lively bars. This ship is a great option for toddlers to teens with lots of choices for activities, cuisine and educational workshops like learning to create your own pizza from dough to toppings! Teens will love the Digital Play games and teen spas while adults can lounge by the pool or try their luck at the casino. I love this ship for grandparents, parents, aunts, uncles and little ones alike! 2015 Cruise Deals for Carnival Breeze
