Don’t call it a make over, call it a “revitalization”!
In 2006, the Freedom of the Seas launched with great excitement as one of the newest and largest ships sailing the seas. At then end of 2014, Royal Caribbean decided it was time once again to give these beautiful ship a little TLC to keep up with the amazing new ships they are launching.
This weekend, Freedom of the Seas came out of dry dock with a fresh new set of enhancements to delight both new and repeat cruisers. A special 2 night sailing gave us a sneak peak of the updates as we soaked in the blue waters and bright sunshine of the Bahamas.
The DreamWorks® Experience — Meet characters like Shrek or Alex, the lion in Madagascar®, during daily visits on the Promenade or for the shy simply enjoy the show as they dance along and energize the crowd!
Afterwards, head over to the 3D theater or poolside under the stars on the outdoor movie screen to see a first run movie like the Hunger Games Mockingjay Part 1!
If you happen to catch the late movie by the pool, this might be the perfect time to take advantage of the newly renovated Royal Baby and Tots nursery. Think of it not so much as handing the kids over as sending them on a play date with certified and highly vetted friends.
For the foodies in your group, Royal Caribbean has enhanced this ship from top to bottom with new dining options. In fact we shared details about Sabor and Dynamic Dining in updates about Oasis.
Additionally, they have added the Cupcake Cupboard to the Promenade featuring over 30 different flavors and even a decorating class! For those seeking more upscale options there is Giovanni’s Table and a great a selection of reds or whites at the renovated, now-more-intimate Vintages wine bar.
And no day would be complete without a fantastic night of sleep, which we certainly enjoyed in some of the newly renovated staterooms.
In case you haven’t yet enjoyed a cruise on the Freedom of the Seas, we want to point out some of the other staples that make this ship a great family cruise: FlowRider® surf simulator, rock climbing wall, ice-skating rink, adult only whirlpools, Broadway style entertainment, Vegas-style casino, mini golf course, H2O Zone water park, and much more.
Are you ready to take advantage of the big changes Royal Caribbean has been making this year? From launching the new Quantum of the Seas to revitalizing the Freedom of the Seas, we have the best sailings available on all of them.
